Hosted by OPCMIA Local 300 in San Jose, CA - August 21-23, 2026
Plasterers Local 200 & SCPI were represented by our outstanding apprentices, Juan Lopez-Frausto (A5) and Jude Ramirez (A5). Juan and Jude committed to additional training to represent us in this competition. We are very proud to announce that they came home with the top prizes. Juan Lopez-Frausto was awarded 1st place, and Jude Ramirez took home 2nd. They competed against 4 other plastering apprentices representing Northern California, Nevada, and Hawaii. We are proud of both of these apprentices for their dedication to the plastering trade. Thank you for representing us with pride!

MARCELL GABRIEL
The SCPI Apprenticeship Program would like to recognize Marcell Gabriel (A1) as Apprentice of the Week. Instructor Tony Ruiz selected Marcell for his willingness to participate and his work ethic during his Measuring training. He demonstrated excellent skills, productivity, and outstanding quality of work. Thank you for your hard work and commitment to your apprenticeship training, Marcell!
DARWIN PACHECO-VENTURA
The SCPI Apprenticeship Program would like to recognize Darwin Pacheco-Ventura for being Apprentice of the 2nd Quarter (2026). Instructor Tony Ruiz nominated him to MARSHALLTOWN's Student Award Program, which recognizes apprentices who have excelled in their "trowel trade" program. Darwin will be presented with a letter of commendation, certificate of merit, and trowel provided by MARSHALLTOWN. Great job, Darwin!
